Ash Wines: 2023 Malvasia Bianca Amphora
Only 2 cases produced ( Wine Nerds Only )
This wine is a true one-of-a-kind. Made from Texas High Plains Malvasia Bianca, it was fermented and aged in an amphora that winemaker Adrienne Ash built by hand at East Side Pot Shop in Austin. The inside was sealed with Texas beeswax from Seguin and pine resin collected in her hometown of Tahoe City, California — making this not just a wine, but a deeply personal project from clay to glass.
Tasting Notes
Expressive and aromatic, with notes of honeysuckle, orange blossom, beeswax, and wild pine layered over stone fruit and lemon oil. The palate is clean and textural, with crisp acidity, a gentle grip, and a resinous, savory echo on the finish.
Pairing Suggestion
Serve with seared scallops and herb butter, grilled peaches with ricotta, or pine nut risotto to complement the wine’s floral lift and earthy warmth.
