This Tawny Port style dessert wine is made from a blend of 6 Portuguese grapes , in an intentionally oxidized fashion, in which fortified, brandied wine is added back to the blend during fermentation, leaving the sweet dessert character to go with rich, nutty flavors and aromas. This wine spent over 2 years on oak and is bottled in a 375ml bottle. Will hold well for months after opening thanks to the sugar, tannins and high alcohol content (20%)
Varietals: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cao, Souzao, Tina Roriz, Bastardo, Alvarelho
Tasting Notes: Nutty with light caramel
This Texas blend is predominantly comprised of Merlot sourced from the Texas High Plains, a region with enough altitude to free grapes from scorching Texas heat, and generate gentle juicy watermelon notes, with hints of black pepper. Dark, rich and chalky Malbec help minimize edgy tannins and leave a more refined, velvety mouthfeel.
Petit Verdot adds a depth of color, dark fruit, and length to the finish. The tannins are layered and complex - from chalky to velvety and rich.
