Texas High Plains Tempranillo, Dutton Vineyard, 2019.
Tinto del País is a Spanish regional synonym for Tempranillo, and Texans love to grow a good Spanish wine. These grapes are from the Texas High Plains AVA, speifically the Dutton Vineyard, so they are the cream of the crop. We aged this fruit on neutral oak for 20 months, and only have 92 cases of this bad boy available.
This wine is robust and rich; definitely one to save for a special occasion or age for a few years (if you have the willpower, which we don't). Once you pop the top, decant this wine for 30-45 minutes. The tasting notes bring hearty flavors of vanilla beans, dark chocolate with almonds, boysenberry cobbler, and tannins as silky and soft as fresh baked bread.
