Our flagship red blend (Merlot/Petit Verdot) is sourced from the Texas High Plains. With significant altitude and sunshine, the vines are spared the scorching Texas heat yet receive plenty of sun to mature fruit during harvest. These conditions yield juicy watermelon and strawberry notes with hints of black pepper in the Merlot. Dark, rich, and chalky Petit Verdot helps minimize the Merlot’s edgy tannins and leave a more refined, velvety mouthfeel.
The artwork is a Goya study done by Nic Mathis. At $24/btl, the Work Horse is meant to be in reach of any consumer.
